With a design that dates back to 1968, the GRC litter bins are just as popular today as they were back then. They use alkaline resistant fibres and concrete to provide excellent vandal resistant properties with a higher degree of fire protection compared to any other litter bin currently available.
The bin has been designed with a narrow profile and features two slide-out lockable doors with attached galvanised liners with plastic sack bracket. As standard the door is fitted with a budget lock with the option to upgrade to a slam lock available. Slam lock is a stainless steel lock which is easily opened using a square T key and closes with a push of the door against a spring loaded boss. If you wish to upgrade to the slam lock, please select the lock upgrade option above.
The bin features a moulded plate on the front of the bin with ‘YOUR LITTER PLEASE’ text.
The GFC litter bins are available with a choice of either a textured, smooth or Victoriana finish. The textured finish uses PTX textured paint to give a rough finish not too dissimilar to sandpaper and is designed to prevent unwanted graffiti and posters being applied to the bin. The smooth finish uses a smoother pseudo-cast iron finish with only a slight texture and no roughness.
The Victoriana finishes uses the smooth finish with only a slight texture and no roughness with the addition of highlighted beading as standard to give a classic Victorian appearance. The Victoriana finish is a popular choice for heritage sites and town centres.
The bin is supplied with a pre-drilled base that allows it to be securely fixed to the ground using RAWL bolts. Alternatively ground anchor feet are available which allow you to site the bin in freshly laid concrete. The feet bolt to the bottom of the bin and once the bin is in place and the concrete has cured, the bin is securely held in position.
